About the PIZZA programming contest
PIZZA is a 10 hours long programming contest where participants develop bots that compete on virtual arenas over the network.
Contestants need to connect to game servers using TCP/IP and implement commands offered in a specification using their own algorithms.
Each game is split into tournaments and rounds so that participants are motivated to constantly improve their programs.
Finals are preceded by 5 hours long qualifying round that consists of ACM-like and optimization tasks.
During both qualifying round and finals participants use their own computers and programming languages of their choice.
